Do you have Vegan/Vegetarian/GF/Coeliac options?
We can cater for most dietaries. Please make note of your special dietary requirements when you make your online booking, and let your server know once you have been seated.
Are you BYO?
Saké Restaurant and Bar is a licensed restaurant with a fantastic range of well-priced international and Australian wines, local, Japanese and international beers, and a large selection of sake, other spirits and innovative house-made cocktails. We do not offer a BYO service at any of our locations.
Are your meats halal?
We have halal-certified meat on the menu, however, there is no separate halal preparation space in our kitchens.
How do your set menu options work?
The minimum number of guests required to dine on a set menu is two, and the whole table is required to dine on a set menu. If your booking is for eight or more guests, you are automatically required to dine on one of our set menus. Special dietary requirements cannot be accommodated when dining on a set menu.
Do you have disability access?
Yes, we do at all of our restaurants.
Do you have highchairs?
Highchairs are available at all Saké locations. Please note this on your online booking.
What payment methods do you accept?
All Visa, Mastercard, and AMEX credit card transactions incur a processing fee of 1.8%. Debit card (Visa & Mastercard) transactions incur a processing fee of 1.4% and EFTPOS, 1.15%. International cards incur a processing fee of 3.5%. 10% discretionary service charge applies to all groups of 6+. 10% surcharge applies on Sundays, 15% surcharge applies on all public holidays.
Cash is also accepted. Cheque Payments are not permitted.
Do you sell gift cards?
Gift cards can purchased in venue during opening hours, and online.
What gift cards do you accept?
We accept Hunter Street Hospitality (previously Rockpool Dining Group and Pacific Concepts) gift cards, as well as Good Food and Gourmet Traveller gift cards.
What is your cancellation policy and do you require a credit card to confirm a reservation?
During peak service times, we kindly ask for a credit card to be placed on file when booking, helping us minimise last-minute cancellations and no-shows. If a booking is cancelled late or guests do not attend, a fee of $50 per person may apply. For small groups, we request at least 4 hours’ notice to avoid this charge. For groups of 8 or more, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Please note that separate cancellation terms apply to private room bookings, which will be shared at the time of reservation.

Do you accept walk-ins?
We do accept walk-ins, however, a booking is highly recommended, especially on weekends.

What is the suggested attire for the restaurant?
Our dress code at Saké The Rocks is smart-casual.
What are some of the most popular dishes?
Our Saké classic dishes, such as melt-in-the-mouth, Miso-Glazed Glacier 51 Toothfish, spectacular Hiramasa Kingfish with Lime and Jalapeno Kosho and Coriander-Infused Ponzu, Shumai – or steamed prawn dumplings, and light tempura-coated Popcorn Shrimp with Yuzu and Spicy Mayonnaise are mainstays of the menu that we are unable to remove. Guests also hit us up daily for sushi rolls, nigiri and sashimi hand-made by our expert sushi masters.
Are children welcome & do you have a children’s menu?
Yes, children and families are welcome. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal representative to enter the venue. A legal representative is defined as an adult who holds parental rights and responsibility for the minor. Friends, partners, or older siblings will not be accepted as chaperones.
Yes, we have highchairs available on request. Saké The Rocks does not have a children’s menu, but we can reduce portion size and spice intensity.
I am going to be late to my booking, what do I do?
There is a 15-minute grace time on all bookings. If you are running later than this please try to contact the restaurant team on 02 9259 5656, however, they may not be able to attend to your call immediately if they are busy in service.
I want to change my booking.
You may change your booking by contacting the reservations team on reservation.sakerestaurant@hunter-street.com.au. Our reservations office hours are Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm. Outside of these hours, please call the restaurant directly on 02 9259 5656.

What are some of the most popular dishes?
Consistent with our interstate Saké siblings, Saké Hamer Hall offers the full spectrum of Saké classic dishes, including Miso-Glazed Glacier 51 Toothfish; spectacular Hiramasa Kingfish with Lime and Jalapeno Kosho and Coriander-Infused Ponzu; Shumai – or steamed prawn dumplings; andlight tempura-coated Popcorn Shrimp with Yuzu and Spicy Mayonnaise. Other dishes with a more Melbourne-centric focus and flavours include Japanese snacks such as katsu chicken bao and katsu fish bao.
