Housed above a heritage-listed 1885 building, the bar is a lush world, where the romance of a botanicals meets the mood of a Victorian bar.
Our Beverage Director and Bar Manager have structured a meander through a fictional garden with Rose, Fern, Camellia, Eucalypt, Oak Lawn, Arid and Herb & Medicinal. While flavour themes remain, the cocktails will evolve, so there is always a new recipe to explore.

For hundreds of years, botanists have explored the natural world with curiosity. Inspired by Ferdinand von Mueller, one of Australia’s most influential botanists, Bar Ferdinand combines this historic curiosity with contemporary creativity — mixing the two together for a cocktail bar abundant in flavour and character.
Every cocktail sits within a defined botanical collection, a unique contribution to a broader expression of season (and the natural life that’s in-bloom). Ingredients are studied closely and reinterpreted with care, so that every sip feels considered. Precise. Perfect.
You’ll see traces of this approach all around the intimate, 21-seat space. It’s in the menu too, in the terrariums on every table. The organic and the organised. The familiar and the unexpected.
