Can I see the dietary menu?

What options are (GF/ coeliac friendly, vegan/ vegetarian)

We can cater for most other dietary requirements. Please make note of your special dietary requirements when you make your online booking, and let your server know once you have been seated.

Are the meats halal?

Sahtein proudly offers a diverse selection of halal dishes. All ingredients and cooking processes are halal-friendly, including halal-certified beef, lamb, and chicken, as well as fresh breads, salads, and desserts.

How many guests before the set menu is mandatory?

Any group size can dine from the A La Carte menu. Our Banquet menus are also available for all table sizes but must be selected by the entire table.

Do you cater to dietaries on the set menu?

We can always make accommodations for those guests who have specific dietary requirements, even if the group is on a set menu. We offer alternative dishes as close to the original menu as possible, if that’s not possible we find a suitable swap. While we can sometimes accommodate on short notice, knowing beforehand allows chefs to make some preparations ahead.

Surcharge info / large group surcharge fees

Visa and Mastercard credit and debit payments will incur a 1.7% processing fee, and all EFTPOS card transactions will incur a 1.2% processing fee. AMEX will incur a 2.7% fee. A 10% surcharge applies on Sundays, and a 15% surcharge applies on all public holidays

Is catering available?

No we are a dine in restaurant only.

Is takeaway available?

No, takeaway is not available.

Are walk ins accepted?

We do accept walk-ins; however, a booking is highly recommended, especially on weekends.

Are children welcome & are there highchairs?

Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. We have highchairs available on request.

Do you have disability access?

Our restaurant is located within a heritage listed building, so we do not have lift access, however the majority of Sahtein is located on the Ground Floor so access is across our cobble stone courtyard.

Do you have gift cards?

Yes, we do. You can purchase a gift card here.

What gift cards are accepted?

We accept Rockpool Dining Group gift cards, Hunter Street Hospitality and Pacific Concepts gift cards, as well as Good Food and Gourmet Traveller gift cards.

Can my gift card be used to make a booking?

We require a credit card on file as a guarantee to secure a booking. This is in line with the cancellation policy. Your gift voucher can be used at the time of payment.

What are your opening hours?

Sunday – Thursday: 12:00pm – 9:00pm
Friday & Saturday: 12:00pm – 9:45pm

I want to change my booking; how do I do this?

You can modify or cancel your booking directly via the confirmation email you received. Alternatively, you can contact us on 02 8099 7066 or reservation.sahtein@hunter-street.com.au, however our reservations team works within regular business hours, and the restaurant may not answer the call right away during peak service.

Do you have a private dining room/what's the maximum number of people?

Yes, we have a large private room that can accommodate up to 60 guests, this room is located above the restaurant and offers complete privacy.

What is your booking/cancellation Policy?

Groups of 6 or requested to provide your credit card details to secure this reservation. Nothing will be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation or you do not provide us with at least 4 hours’ notice of cancellation, in which case an automated charge of $50 per person will apply.

Yes, you can park in the Clocktower car park, which can be booked here.
